How To Make A Rag Rug

What is a "Rag Rug"? A rag rug is made from scraps of fabric.  Either sewn, braided or crocheted into a carpet like shape. I decided to make one of these for myself using some old sheets I had tucked away in the linen cupboard.  Chocolate brown and a great navy blue. Want to make your own? What you'll need:  An old sheet (or pre-washed fabric), a very large crochet hook, and some good scissors. Cut or rip the fabric into 1 1/2" strips There are many different ways to attached the strips of fabric together - my preferred method is sewing them together on a diagonal.   And roll it all into one big ball! This makes it much easier, trust me. I used a basic single crochet stitch, starting in the center working my out into an oval shape (or any shape you prefer!) until the rug is as the size you wish.
