Interview: Melynda of French Press Knits & Giveaway

Today we have a very special guest with us! Fabulous knitter, pattern designer and new Mom - Melynda of French Press Knits ! She has the most amazing patterns on her website and as well at her Etsy shop .  So make sure to stop by and see her! 1.  Tell us a bit about yourself. Well, the biggest thing in my life right now is my new daughter.  I am loving every bit of motherhood- it is such a precious gift.  My husband and I have been married for over five years now.  Since starting FPK he has become a knitter too!  I've always loved creating things and I love to share this passion on my blog and through my designs. 2.  How long have you been knitting?  Do you also do any other sort of crafting? (ie. embroidery, sewing, crochet, tatting etc) I've been sewing since I was young, and for many years that was my main craft.  Although I do still sew occasionally, knitting is my main craft love these days.  I'm not sure...

Interview at "With Every Stitch"

Outside of books and reading I also knit, crochet, quilt and embroider. Earlier this week my sister Rachel of With Every Stitch  asked if I'd be interested in doing an interview with her.  Of course I said yes!  One of the questions was did I have photos of my projects?  Originally my answer was no, but today I finally took some pictures. Make sure you go on over and check it out! Here are my current projects:

Not so bad..

I'm actually suprised at how I'm feeling.  You always hear horror stories of how other people had their teeth pulled and were over a week getting back into the groove, how they were out of it for the first 2-3 days etc. I think the worst part was the actual IV needle.. as I am seriously not a fan of needles! It kicked in within 30 seconds of them giving me the meds.. Mike said I was out like a light!  I remember waking up in recovery which was about 45 mins later.  I woke up listening to the guy in the spot next to me asking where he was and why.. and wanting to know why they wouldn't let him go outside for a cigarette.  I felt bad for the poor guy!  The dentist and his nurses were awesome, Dr. MacNicol came in several times to check on all his patients in recovery.. we also had RN's that kept an eye on us.  I was one of about 6 in the recovery area. Mike said I was pretty lucky with the whole process.  We got home just before noon (my apt was at...

Christmas

So I've decided I'm going to start working on Christmas gifts for 2010 in January.  I've got quite a few left to finish up before the deadline next week.  Here are two of the projects I've been working on: 1. Basketweave scarf for my SIL Christine I've got this one about 3/4's of the way done.  Just need to park myself in my 'knitting' chair (as Mike has nicknamed it) and work on it for a few solid hours and get the thing done! 2. Ms. Poppins purse for my sister Jen Really all I have left to do on this is put it together.   I have to sew the inside and stitch the side together and put the handle on. __ I've also got a multi strand blanket I'm working on, a couple of other scarves, some hats to finish up, one more to start, and a blanket to quilt.   Thank goodness I have tomorrow off, sunday and next week I'm on holidays! Wish me luck! A.
