Comfort Food - Chocolate Chip Cookies

I LOVE chocolate chip cookies.. I mean I really love chocolate chip cookies.. They are the ultimate of comfort foods..

Do you have a favorite comfort food?
Here is my favorite cookie receipe!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup of unsalted butter - softened
1/3 cup dark brown sugar - firmly packed
1/3 cup of white sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1 cup - plus 2 tablespoons of sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
1/2 teaspoon of salt
7-1/2 ounce package of chocolate chips
(Now I mix half and half of dark chocolate chips and white chocolate chips, but that's just me)
- also I have substituted 3/4 cup of walnuts and dried fruit instead of chocolate chips and they are SUPER tasty.

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375F.  Lightly grease two large baking sheets with butter or vegetable shortening (now I use no need to grease cookie sheets)
In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and the sugars.
Beat in the egg and vanilla.
Mix well!
Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt.
Gradually add flour mixture to the batter.
Add chocolate chips

Drop rounded teaspoonfuls of batter onto the baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies have browned around the edges.

Let cool and enjoy!

A Day in the Life of.. Anne Barton

Welcome to Stitch Read Cook's weekly feature!! A Day in the Life of..... This is where us bloggers & fans get a glimpse inside the days of our favorite authors!   -------------------- Anne Barton started swiping romances from her mom’s bookshelf as a teenager and decided historicals (with their balls, dukes, and gowns) were the best. So, when she had the chance to spend a semester in London she packed her bags—and promptly fell in love with the city, its history, and its pubs. She dreamed of writing romance, but somehow ended up a software analyst instead. Fortunately, a few years and a few careers later, Anne found her way back to writing the stories she loves and won the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart® for Regency Historical Romance. She lives in Maryland with her husband and three children, who try valiantly not to roll their eyes whenever she quotes Jane Austen. Her weaknesses include reality TV, cute-but-impractical shoes, and coffee. Lots and l...
