I have to admit, I put off reading this book until the last minute and had to force myself to pick it up and actually read it. I pushed myself through the first few pages and I’m so glad I did! The story reminded me of one of my own childhood favorites – the Chronicles of Narnia and the Enchanted Forest Chronicles.
Lyra has moved in with her Aunt to help take care of her during her illness. As she begins exploring the local community, she finds a quaint bookstore that wasn’t there last time she visited her Aunt. Drake’s Bookstore is owned by handsome Cullen Drake – who Lyra is immediately drawn to.
This book is filled with magic, a fantastic quest, dragons, good overcoming evil and the connection between Lyra and Cullen. The author has woven together an amazing story that draws the reader and and keeps you hooked. As I turned each page, the more engrossed I became with the tale. I refuse to give away anything about this story as it’s so wonderful I don’t want to spoil it!
Will I recommend this book? Yes, most definitely. Will I read more by this author? You betcha! I can’t wait to read the next book in the Enchanted Bookstore Legend series. I have to say this has drawn me back into the fantasy genre again and pulling out those old favorites I mentioned for some re-reads.
