Synopsis:
Handsome home organizer Ted has a double dilemma.
As a devoted husband, he’s struggling to resist the charm and seductive flirtations of Janet, a divorced client. Circumstances keep bringing her back into his life, fueling his wife’s suspicions and inciting threats from Janet’s jealous ex-husband.
Ted must also deal with the ire of James Smith, a demanding client who is convinced his eccentric father died leaving something of great value hidden in his cluttered and mysterious Victorian mansion.
Together, Ted and Janet interpret clues that lead to two surprising discoveries—one that captures the imagination of the city, and one that determines their fate.
Life sometimes throws us for a loop. Ted, a talented home organizer is surprised by his attraction to one of his clients. A devoted husband, he fights the temptations of taking his professional relationship with Janet beyond what is in his mind acceptable. He deeply loves his wife, and is happy in their marriage. Can he stay faithful?
Ted has been contacted to do a rather large job. A client wishes to clean out his father’s home and dispose of the items. James Smith is probably one of the most demanding clients he’s ever met. Determined to find something of value in this house, he orders Ted and his helpers to open every drawer, cupboard, box and look at every piece of paper no matter how ordinary for clues to where the ‘treasure’ is hidden.
With everything going on, Ted is trying to keep his life in order, his marriage together and keep a friendship from going off course. Can he do all this and and make everyone happy? With all the obstacles thrown in his path can he do all this?
I loved the mystery of Mr. Smith’s home and what Ted would eventually find. How he dives in and tackles the disaster of a home. The characters were amazing, while Mr. Smith was demanding and rude, he grew on me. Janet, while she flirts with Ted, is a sweet woman who is lonely and just wants a friend. She has her own issues to work through and Ted is a good friend to her.
Will I recommend this book? Yes, it was a great read. While I didn’t like one aspect of the book (regarding unfaithfulness) the good stuff blew it out of the water. Will I read more by this author? Yes! Most definitely!
