What inspired you to write about Gods & Goddesses?

I’ve always been fascinated with Greek mythology. In characters who themselves are fascinated by human behaviours and emotions and who have these incredible abilities and opportunities to do good but don’t always follow through. For me, finding the humanity in a supernatural character is always a great treat.

What are the scenes that are the hardest for you to write?

Love scenes…no doubt. There’s pressure to make each one better than the last and for readers to connect with characters on an emotional level. I much prefer writing the fighting scenes to the love scenes.

I love the story of the twins Artemis and Apollo and how protective they were over their mother (Leto). Leto was Zeus's love before he married Hera and Hera chased her out of Olympus. She gave birth to the twins on an island while being cared for by other goddesses. The twins became expert archers in order to protect her.

The Greek myths are fascinating, I've always liked the story of Hercules.

Even though real spiders squee me out, I've always liked the story of Athena and Arachne. I have a play version of the wedding that Eris wasn't invited to that starts the Trojan War that I read with my sixth graders every year--always a fun time, because then we assign blame for starting the war and create "wanted" posters for the culprits--so that's a favorite too.

I think any story about the gods/goddesses is a favorite. I become fascinated with myths in jr. high and it carried throughout the course of my life. I have all kinds of books about them and I enjoy all their stories :)

I've always be interested in the Trojan horse myth and I did enjoy watching the movie Troy.
