Welcome Cynthia!
Cynthia Garner discovered her love for writing when her sixth grade teacher told the class to write a story that began "It was a dark and stormy night..." With that Cynthia's love for all things paranormal was born.
When she's not working her day job as a mostly mild-mannered Human Resources Manager, she's on her laptop writing or playing way too much Solitaire. Originally from Northeast Ohio, Cynthia now lives in the desert Southwest.

What drew you to writing Romance to begin with?
I love to read romance, so when I decided to try my hand at fiction writing, it was natural to write what I love to read.
What is a typical “day” in your writing life?
I basically have two full-time jobs--my day job as a Human Resources Manager and my writing job. My alarm goes off at 5:00 a.m. M-F and I usually manage to drag myself out of bed after hitting the snooze only twice. Often three times. Occasionally four times. I'm at work between 7:00 and 7:30 and leave at 3:00. I may run errands, do grocery shopping, etc., and am usually home by 4:30 or 5:00. Then it's firing up the laptop, checking email and social networking sites, then fixing dinner. Usually by 6:00 I'm working on writing--either editing, writing, or plotting/creating. I usually stop by about 8:00 or 9:00 because my brain isn't working so well by that point. I get a lot of my writing done on the weekends, where I'll put in at least 8 hours each day. I drink a lot of water and iced tea when I'm working, so there are frequent breaks for, you know. Empty myself of liquids so I can get more liquids to drink.
What 2 authors are you dying to write an anthology with?
Oh, wow. There are so, so many! Hmm. Right now I'll go with Larissa Ione and J.R. Ward.
If you could hop into any romance novel, what would it be?
This is a hard one, too! Honestly, I'm stumped. I'm not all that adventurous--I leave that up to my heroines!
If you were stranded on an island, what 5 books would you take with you?

DeleteMy favorite paranormal creature is still the vampire, because they're so powerful, mysterious, and I love the immortality thing. I'd choose dragons as my second favorite, they're pretty darned cool too.
ReplyDeleteOh, Barbara, I love me some dragon shifters, too! If you haven't read it, you should pick up DRAGON BOUND by Thea Harrison (the first in the Elder Races series). It's so, so good! Also, I have three dragon shifter novellas under my pen name Sherrill Quinn, available at Amazon or AmberHeat.com.
DeleteI am still sampling the paranormal genre. There is so much wonderful diversity. So far, I would have to say I like shifters the best. To become something entirely different from your human form is intriguing.
