Title:  If You Give A Rake A Ruby

Synopsis:

Her Mysterious Past Is The Best Revenge...

Fallon, the Marchioness of Mystery, is a celebrated courtesan with her finger on the pulse of high society. She’s adored by men, hated by their wives. No one knows anything about her past, and she plans to keep it that way.

Only He Can Offer Her A Dazzling Future...

Warrick Fitzhugh will do anything to protect his compatriots in the Foreign Office, including seduce Fallon, who he thinks can lead him to the deadliest crime lord in London. He knows he’s putting his life on the line...

To Warrick’s shock, Fallon is not who he thinks she is, and the secrets she’s keeping are exactly what make her his heart’s desire...

When it comes to secrets, no one keeps them better then a spy.  And sometimes secrets, lies and who we really are can catch up with us.  Life hasn’t always been easy for the Marchioness of Mystery, and Fallon has no idea the trouble Warrick is about to bring into her life.

Nothing with the ladies in the Jewels of the Ton series it quite what it seems.  We meet Fallon in the first book, but only as a side character to Juliette and William’s story.  An intriguing character, who not only keeps the men of the ton on their toes, but has Warrick flustered and off kilter.

Warrick drops in to Fallon’s life and refuses to leave.  He will do almost anything to get this monster off the streets, even if it means taking Fallon back to places she doesn’t want to remember.  This book is an interesting mix of romance, spies and intrigue.

With so much going on in the story and the twists and turns it’s hard not give up some tidbits of information that could ruin the story!  One thing I have to say is that Shana always manages to knock it out of the park for me and once again has me itching to see what happens in the next book “Sapphires Are An Earl’s Best Friend”.  I’d love to find out more about Lily!

Would I recommend this book?  If you’ve read anything by Shana and loved it – then this is a must read for you.  Would I read more by this author?  Shana is on my auto-buy list and will always have a permanent place on my bookcase.

A Day in the Life of.. Anne Barton

Welcome to Stitch Read Cook's weekly feature!! A Day in the Life of..... This is where us bloggers & fans get a glimpse inside the days of our favorite authors!   -------------------- Anne Barton started swiping romances from her mom’s bookshelf as a teenager and decided historicals (with their balls, dukes, and gowns) were the best. So, when she had the chance to spend a semester in London she packed her bags—and promptly fell in love with the city, its history, and its pubs. She dreamed of writing romance, but somehow ended up a software analyst instead. Fortunately, a few years and a few careers later, Anne found her way back to writing the stories she loves and won the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart® for Regency Historical Romance. She lives in Maryland with her husband and three children, who try valiantly not to roll their eyes whenever she quotes Jane Austen. Her weaknesses include reality TV, cute-but-impractical shoes, and coffee. Lots and l...
