A Day in the Life of.....
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Katee Robert, learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.
Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way—as it often does—and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she’d like to write a book and try to get published.
Her first novel was an epic fantasy that, God willing, will never see the light of day. From there, she dabbled in YA and horror, before finally finding speculative romance. Because, really, who wouldn’t want to write entire books about the smoking-hot relationships between two people?
She now spends her time—when not lost in Far Reach worlds—playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

A Day in the Life of..
6:00 am – I crawl out of bed and immediately beeline it for the coffee pot. I’m a hot mess until I have some caffeine in me—can’t even form whole sentences.
7:00 am – I head for my office with my second/third cup of coffee. I check emails and make sure there’s nothing crazy or vital that needs to be turned around ASAP.
7:30-11:30 am -- At this point, I usually try to just dive in to wherever I was in the work in progress. I don’t read what I’ve written before (except for maybe a few paragraphs). This is when I throw myself at the mercy of twitter and #1k1hr. I have some people who usually do writing sprints with me, and it appeals to my competitive nature to keep track of word count.
11:30-Noon – Break for lunch! I usually fail at food, so I’ve taken to keeping quick little meals that I can just pop into the microwave or whatever (smoothies work, too).
Noon-4:30 pm – This time is usually up for grabs. If I didn’t hit my word count goal (which varies from project to project), then I’ll brew some tea and head back to the office. Same goes for answering emails and all the various things that go with being a writer that have nothing to do with writing (promo, critiques, research, etc).
4:30-6:00 pm – Making and eating dinner (or dragging the family out for a meal, depending on the day).
6:00-10:00 pm – Family time. In the past, I’ve worked 70+ hour weeks and, frankly, it sucks. So I make an effort to carve out time for the family in the evenings (though, during edits and tight deadlines, this time is spent working back in my office).
10:30 pm – I’m totally usually in bed by this point. I’ve found that I’m most productive in the mornings, so I tend to sleep early and get up early to maximize that.
a Rafflecopter giveawayEight years ago, former Army sergeant Nathan Schultz let the love of his life disappear without a fight. After watching everyone around him find happiness while he slipped further away, he’s finally ready to fight for Chelsea Callaghan—and he’s not afraid to play dirty.
Chelsea has always followed her conservative family’s rules—with one heartbreaking exception. When she receives an invitation to an old high school friend’s wedding, she knows who’s to blame. Though she goes solely to give Nathan a piece of her mind, he blackmails her into staying the entire week. With him.
There’s no way she’ll bow to Nathan’s will without making him pay. Unfortunately, revenge is a dish best served fully clothed, and they can’t be in the same room without losing theirs. As insatiable, anger-fueled lust shifts into something more, they begin to lose sight of why they can’t be together. But with so many unforgivable wrongs between them, can Nathan and Chelsea ever make things right?
Wow... I don't know how you get up at 6am... even with coffee! Looking forward to reading your book!
