Synopsis:

Out of the frying pan. . .and into the fire!

Desperate to escape the spotlight of her failed marriage to a fellow celebrity-chef, Carly di Matisse left New York City for a tiny town in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The restaurant she's running these days may not be chic, but in Pine Mountain she can pretend to be the tough cookie everybody knows and loves. Until she finds herself spending too much time with a way-too-hot contractor whose rugged good looks melt her like butter...

Jackson Carter wasn't looking for love. But he's not the kind of man to walk away from a worksite—or from a fiery beauty whose passionate nature provides some irresistible on-the-job benefits...

It's the perfect temporary arrangement for two ravenous commitment-phobes, except that Jackson and Carly keep coming back for seconds... and thirds... and fourths...

In the midst of a divorce to her egotistical spotlight seeking ex, Carly has packed up and moved (temporarily she says) to Pine Mountain.  Her new restaurant may not be the most fancy or well known, but it’s far from New York and the drama it holds for her at the moment.  One thing Carly didn’t count on was meeting Jackson - and it was quite the meeting too!

Jackson isn’t looking for commitment and avoids relationships at all costs.  He even had a fake girlfriend come to his brother’s engagement party to keep his mother of his back.  When he meets Carly, well things start to fly – literally.   These two have fantastic chemistry but aren’t ready to admit how they feel.

I adore cooking based novels and this didn’t disappoint.  The food descriptions were amazing and the recipes at the end of the book look extremely tempting.  I plan on trying the scone recipe very soon!  Carly’s character is a phenomenal chef.  She is very creative and adores fresh ingredients – enough to want to source out local or even start her own garden.

Would I recommend this book?  Most definitely.  Kimberly has a lovely way with words and had me drawn into the story within a few pages.  Carly and Jackson have the type of chemistry that leaps off the page, and some very steamy scenes!  Would I read more by this author?  Yes, I am going to pick up the first book in the Pine Mountain series and I eagerly await Sloane’s story later this week.
