RISK THE PASSION
Burned by betrayal, demon assassin Iskander won't get too close to anyone. He spends his days serving his warlord and his nights indulging in carnal pleasures . . . and that's exactly how he likes it. But when a mage wages a wrenching psychic assault on his beautiful tenant Paisley, Iskander must defend her. Under his protection, she will be drawn irresistibly into his life and learn about her own mysterious powers. And not a moment too soon. The mage haunting her isn't acting alone-and he won't rest until he destroys both Paisley and Iskander.

Another amazing book from Carolyn Jewel in her "Witches" series.  I was so thrilled when I got this book from NetGalley!!  This book series was recommended to me by a friend of mine who owns a used bookstore.  She told me I had to read them - that they were the type of books you couldn't put down.  Boy was she right!! I devoured the first two books in a day and a half, and went hunting for more by Carolyn Jewel!

Iskander and Paisley have quite the chemistry.   She is the quiet tenant and bakery owner he doesn't want to think about but can't get her out of his head.  He is the drop dead gorgeous landlord who she knows is off limits.  When Paisley comes under attack by an enemy of Iskander's he has to protect her with his life.

I LOVE how these two come to learn how to deal with one another and fall in love in the process.  They have to overcome some pretty dangerous obstacles to save Paisley and defeat the enemy.  We also get so see the characters from the previous novels!!

As always Carolyn Jewel has written some fabulous characters - sexy, full of wit, funny, and some steamy scenes and that fogged up my glasses!  Full of magic, sexy demons, evil mages and beautiful witches - this story will have readers enchanted from page one until the last chapter!

A Day in the Life of.. Anne Barton

Welcome to Stitch Read Cook's weekly feature!! A Day in the Life of..... This is where us bloggers & fans get a glimpse inside the days of our favorite authors!   -------------------- Anne Barton started swiping romances from her mom’s bookshelf as a teenager and decided historicals (with their balls, dukes, and gowns) were the best. So, when she had the chance to spend a semester in London she packed her bags—and promptly fell in love with the city, its history, and its pubs. She dreamed of writing romance, but somehow ended up a software analyst instead. Fortunately, a few years and a few careers later, Anne found her way back to writing the stories she loves and won the Romance Writers of America’s Golden Heart® for Regency Historical Romance. She lives in Maryland with her husband and three children, who try valiantly not to roll their eyes whenever she quotes Jane Austen. Her weaknesses include reality TV, cute-but-impractical shoes, and coffee. Lots and l...
