Bout of Books

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 19th and runs through Sunday, August 25th in whatever time zone you are in.

Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional.

Monday

Did some reading over my lunch hour – started COWBOY SEEKS BRIDE last night.  Am at 32%. 

Added a few more books to my “to read” list for this week.  Going through some old emails and realized I hadn’t read them yet!  Actually I’ve read New Talent, but I’m going to re-read it to refresh before going onto the other 2 in the series.

Did a bit more reading before bed – finished at 42% on COWBOY SEEKS BRIDE.

Tuesday

Was able to sit down at breakfast with my e-reader for a bit and made it to 53% on COWBOY SEEKS BRIDE.  So far it’s a really fun read and I look forward to getting farther into the story and see what Dewar and Hayley’s story entails.

Lunchtime reading today was a bust – didn’t end up getting any done.

Finished up COWBOY SEEKS BRIDE at bedtime – such a fun read!

Wednesday

Lucky girl I am having today off.  I started & finished up THE PERKS OF BEING A BEAUTY (novella) and started WEDDING CAKE & BIG MISTAKES while enjoying my mid-morning coffee.

Didn’t get as much reading done as I would have liked today – I ended up having some work stuff to finish.  I was able to get a few chapters read though!

By bedtime I was 13% into WEDDING CAKE & BIG MISTAKES.

Thursday

Picked up my e-reader where I left off last night – sat down at breakfast and read a few more pages.  Ended at 15% before heading to work.

Did a bit more reading over lunch and before bed.  Hit 58%.

Friday

Put some more reading in at breakfast and while getting ready for work – Hit 65% before heading out for the day. 

Had a nice parcel arrive today with DECLAN’S CROSS – couldn’t resist starting it over my lunch hour.

By end of day I’m 50% through DECLAN’S CROSS and 65% through WEDDING CAKE & BIG MISTAKES.

Saturday

Unfortunately didn’t get a whole lot of reading done today – maybe an hour at most.

Was able to read a bit this evening – just before bed.  Finished the day with 80% through WEDDING CAKE & BIG MISTAKES and 60% through DECLAN’S CROSS

Sunday

Was able to finish up DECLAN’S CROSS this morning curled up in bed with my coffee.

Had a busy day with hubby’s family, so not much reading this afternoon.

Yay!  Was able to finish up WEDDING CAKE & BIG MISTAKES before bed!  Even with a  change in book line up; I was able to meet my goal of 4 books this week!

    You've got some lovely goals! I'm also planning to read in every spare second that I can find, especially because I've got a decently busy week. I also totally need to catch up on my reading, which I'm hoping this readathon will help me do. :D
