Review: Summer at the Scottish Castle by Rachel Bowdler

S ummer at the Scottish Castle  by Rachel Bowdler Synopsis:   It's always been expected of Jessamine Byron to settle down with someone her family would approve of. But Jess is tired of living a lie. When her so-called perfect life as the Countess of Cheshire goes up in flames, and her marriage in tatters, Jess packs her bags and flees to her family's Scottish ancestral home, Rosemire Castle... ...and runs into ruggedly handsome and surly gardener, Mac Douglas. To her surprise, Mac doesn't recognise her as the infamous lady of the house. Meeting someone who has no idea of the life she's left led, instead seeing and accepting her for the woman she really is, feels like a breath of fresh air. As the summer unfolds, with Mac by her side, Jess finally discovers what it's like to find a community to belong to and be free to love whoever you want. But sometimes the past can't be outrun. And when her two worlds unexpectedly collide, can Jess find the courage to take cha

And we’re back…….

Happy to have you drop by my little corner of the web. It feels like it has been EONS since I blogged and reviewed books. Life, kids, and work made it harder to blog let alone read some days.  Now that the kids are a bit older and work has become more manageable; I have slowly made my way back into the bookish world.  I forgot how much fun all this was.. but ask me again in a few months and see if my answer is the same! Some of my recent reads:

It’s Time To Say Goodbye….

After almost 4 years of blogging, ‘meeting’ amazing writers, finding titles I would never have normally picked up and getting to chat with other readers/bloggers who love books as much as I do – I’ve decided it’s time to shut down Stitch Read Cook … Life over the last year has gotten really hectic – especially with work.  Along with a promotion I’ve picked up a great deal more work load.. which has lead to a lot less reading time in the evenings.  In the coming year things are going to get a lot more crazy busy… I will finish up any tours/reviews that I owe over the next couple of weeks – as well I will continue to post some reviews on my GoodReads account.  I’ll miss my weekly feature “A Day in the Life of…” and “What’s Cooking?” and all the fantastic posts. I’m going to miss everyone!! Happy Blogging.

What I Love About You by Rachel Gibson {Book Tour}

Rachel Gibson lives in Idaho with her husband, three kids, two cats and a dog of mysterious origin. She began her fiction career at age 16, when she ran her car into the side of a hill, retrieved the bumper, and drove to a parking lot, where she strategically scattered the car’s broken glass all about. She told her parents she’d been the victim of a hit and run and they believed her. She’s been making up stories ever since, although she gets paid better for them nowadays. Website ~ Facebook ~ Goodreads   New York Times bestselling author Rachel Gibson returns to Truly, Idaho, and to the fate of sexy SEAL Blake Junger GIMMEE A B-R-E-A-K! Ex-high school cheerleader Natalie Cooper could once shake her pom-poms with the best of them. But she's paid for all that popularity—her husband's run off with what's left of their money and a twenty-year-old bimbo named Tiffany. Light My Fire by Kristina Knight {Book Tour}

Once upon a time, Kristina Knight spent her days running from car crash to fire to meetings with local police--no, she wasn't a troublemaker, she was a journalist. Her career took her all over the United States, writing about everything from a serial killer's capture to the National Finals Rodeo. Along the way she found her very own Knight in Shining Cowboy Boots and an abiding love for romance novels. Kristina writes contemporary romance with a smattering of sass, sex and (of course) drama, and she loves hearing from readers. And just like the characters from her favorite books, she's living her own happily ever after.
