Cleaning & Re-Arranging...

I decided to sort my book, I took a pile this past week to the used book store (oh how I love store credit!) and pulled out my TBR pile from my shelves so that I know what I have to read still. And of course I had to clean our desk (I share it with Mike) Here is how it looks!

Comfort Food - Chocolate Chip Cookies

I LOVE chocolate chip cookies.. I mean I really love chocolate chip cookies.. They are the ultimate of comfort foods.. Do you have a favorite comfort food?  Here is my favorite cookie receipe! Ingredients: 1/2 cup of unsalted butter - softened 1/3 cup dark brown sugar - firmly packed 1/3 cup of white sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 1 cup - plus 2 tablespoons of sifted flour 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda 1/2 teaspoon of salt 7-1/2 ounce package of chocolate chips (Now I mix half and half of dark chocolate chips and white chocolate chips, but that's just me) - also I have substituted 3/4 cup of walnuts and dried fruit instead of chocolate chips and they are SUPER tasty. Directions: Preheat oven to 375F.  Lightly grease two large baking sheets with butter or vegetable shortening (now I use no need to grease cookie sheets) In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and the sugars. Beat in the egg and vanilla. Mix well! Sift together the flour, bak

Review - Mistress by Mistake by Maggie Robinson

Title:  Mistress by Mistake (Book #1 - Courtesan Court Trilogy) Author: Maggie Robinson Source: Kindle (for PC) Paperback, 352 pages Published April 27th 2010 by Brava Genre: Historical Romance My Rating: Scandal Is Only The Beginning... Charlotte Fallon let her guarded virtue fall once-and she's paid dearly for it ever since. She swore she'd never succumb to men's desires again. But even a village spinster's life miles from temptation can't save her from a sister with no shame whatsoever. Or a heart that longs for more, whatever the cost... Sir Michael Bayard found more than he expected in his bed when he finally joined his new mistress. He'd fantasized about her dewy skin and luscious curves, assured her understanding that what passed between them was mere dalliance. But he didn't expect the innocence and heat of her response in his arms. Nor her surprisingly sharp tongue once she was out of them... A few days of abandon cannot undo the ha

Outside of books and reading I also knit, crochet, quilt and embroider. Earlier this week my sister Rachel of With Every Stitch  asked if I'd be interested in doing an interview with her.  Of course I said yes!  One of the questions was did I have photos of my projects?  Originally my answer was no, but today I finally took some pictures. Make sure you go on over and check it out! Here are my current projects:

Owen Sweetwater inherited his family’s talent for hunting the psychical monsters who prey on London’s women and children, and his investigation into the deaths of two glass-readers has led him here. Review - A Lady Most Likely by Julia Quinn, Connie Brockway & Eloisa James

Title:  A Lady Most Likely Authors:  Julia Quinn, Eloisa James, Connie Brockway Source: Purchased Mass Market Paperback, 384 pages Published: December 28th 2010 by Avon Genre:  Historical Romance My Rating:  Hugh Dunne, the Earl of Briarly, needs a wife—so his sister hands him a list of the very best young ladies on the market. And then, because he refuses to tear himself away from the stables where he trains Arabian racehorses, she invites all those ladies to a house party, along with some other bachelors, of course. So who will Hugh choose? The Botticelli-esque, enchanting Gwendolyn? The outspoken, delightful Katherine? If he doesn't work fast, he'll lose those ladies to his closest friends, and then where will he look for a wife? Perhaps, just perhaps, toward a lady who's not on a market at all, and would require a great deal of persuading... This was the first book I've read that was done by three authors that wasn't an anthology. The story went toget
