Not so bad..

I'm actually suprised at how I'm feeling.  You always hear horror stories of how other people had their teeth pulled and were over a week getting back into the groove, how they were out of it for the first 2-3 days etc. I think the worst part was the actual IV needle.. as I am seriously not a fan of needles! It kicked in within 30 seconds of them giving me the meds.. Mike said I was out like a light!  I remember waking up in recovery which was about 45 mins later.  I woke up listening to the guy in the spot next to me asking where he was and why.. and wanting to know why they wouldn't let him go outside for a cigarette.  I felt bad for the poor guy!  The dentist and his nurses were awesome, Dr. MacNicol came in several times to check on all his patients in recovery.. we also had RN's that kept an eye on us.  I was one of about 6 in the recovery area. Mike said I was pretty lucky with the whole process.  We got home just before noon (my apt was at 9:45am, but ran a

Going to be M.I.A for a few days..

I'm going to be M.I.A (Missing in Action) for a few days.  I'm having my wisdom (all 4) teeth pulled first thing tomorrow morning. I've got lots of books, knitting, seasons of Charmed, Bones and Smallville to keep me occupied.  As well Mike picked up a stack of movies for me. See you all in a few days!

Table top loom..

I'm so excited, I FINALLY have found a table top loom.. well I didn't, someone else found it for me.. but still it's mine! It's a 24" wooden table top loom.. It will be arriving at my house sometime today!! YAY! I'll post some pictures later tonight.. I have a work dinner to go to before I can go home and set it all up and try it out. Does anyone know of any good weaving blogs? EDIT: I was able to find out more about the loom.. it's a Leclerc Tapestry Loom.  I totally love it! Now to find out how to set it up properly.

Sock Progress....

I got the heel flap done on sock #1 last night.. lunch today I will work on turning the heel! Progress photos: Unfortunately my cell phone doesn't take the best of photos, but I didn't have a camera handy at work this morning lol. UPDATE:

Replacing a favorite sweater...

I have this sweater. It's a cardigan style button up, thick chunky, cozy kind of sweater. And like most favorite sweaters.. it's falling apart.  I wear it a lot. I'd love to replace it with a new one.  But I've never taken an existing sweater and made a pattern to knit from... Any suggestions or advice?

WIP's

How many WIP's do you have on the go at the moment? I have: 1. Giant granny square crochet blanket - in a deep red 2. Multi strand knitted blanket - dark blue, light blue and cream 3. Magic loop socks 4. Nordic sweater - navy blue (thinking I might take this one apart..) 5. K1P1 rib blanket - pale blue 6. Crochet baby blanket - in pale pink

Sock Update...

Progress is slow on my Magic Loop socks.. I've got just a little over 50 rows done.  23 more rows and I can start turning the heel..  Anyone done a heel with Magic Loop?  The pattern I have is for DPN's.. Suggestions? Thoughts? Progress photo:

KAL Pattern Ideas.....

1. Travelling Fern Lace Scarf 2. Luscious Lace Scarf 3. Checkerboard Lace Scarf 4. Asphodel Lace Scarf 5. Loopy Lace Scarf I've narrowed the list down to my top 5 favorites.. I noticed that I've picked all scarves lol! I found one I'd love, love to make.. but I think it's a bit out of my range at the moment.. It's from Jarod Flood.. I love his blog Brooklyn Tweed .  This is my favorite blanket  - Hemlock Ring Blanket

Lace KAL!!

I joined a very cool knit-along over at Lazy Kate Creates ! Thank you to Erin over at Dropped Stitches  for posting about it! Can't wait to start, I'll have to do some yarn shopping and pick out some patterns in the next few weeks. It works out perfectly for me, I'll be on holidays starting January 28th until February 5th.  I'm having my wisdom teeth pulled... not going to be fun at all.  But knitting will keep me occupied!

Socks so far...

Here are the socks that I am working on.. I took these on my phone, so they aren't the greatest.. my camera isn't working :(

Socks & Magic Loop

I started my first pair of Magic Loop socks last night.  I've got the cuff and about 10 rows done.. I'm using a multi coloured yarn, it's almost got a self striping look to it, but not quite.  I really like them! Pictures will be posted later tonight or tomorrow!

2010 Goals

1. Clean out my WIP basket, either finish or redo what's there. 2. Knit myself a sweater. 3. Make lots of socks. 4. Knit my MIL a sweater.. (she's already picked it out) 5. Organize my yarn and notions a bit better. 6. See if Mike will build me a better WIP holder :)
