Synopsis:

When Lady Julianne Gatewick realizes the rake of her dreams thinks of her as practically his sister, she decides it's time to get even. The charming Marc Darcett, Earl of Hawkfield, is every lady's fantasy, but he's determined to evade virgins and their matrimonial traps - especially his best friend's sister.

Hawk reluctantly agrees to be Julianne's guardian for the season, but he's having trouble resisting his gorgeous ward. Worse still, she's taunting him by flirting with every scoundrel in London - and he's sworn to protect her! Certain she's learned her tricks from the authoress of that scandalous publication "The Secrets of Seduction", Hawk sets out to uncover the writer's identity. But he never expects to find the formerly angelic Julianne behind the mask - and between his sheets.
I was really excited when I got a copy of Vicky's second book.  I LOVED How to Marry A Duke (review here) and couldn't wait to see what would come of Julianne the sister of Tristan, Duke of Shelbourne and Tristan's best friend Marc (aka Hawk) the Earl of Hawkfield.

Julianne is I think one of my favorite characters.  She's witty, sarcastic, beautiful, funny, and keeps Hawk on his toes through out the story.  With the help of Lady Rutledge (Hawk's Great Aunt Hester) Julianne pens a 'publication' that scandalizes the ton.  No one actually knows that Julianne and Hester are the authors of this book save Julianne's two best friends Amy and Georgette.

There were a few moments in the book where I got frustrated with Hawk, like a typical man - he was completely clueless as to Julianne's feelings.  I was cursing at him for his stupidity and stubbornness when it came to his guardianship of Julianne.   When he finally came around and clued into how he felt I yelled FINALLY - to which my husband gave me funny look!

I thoroughly enjoyed this story!  The characters are engaging, well written, witty, charming and funny.  This story had me right from page 1 until the last chapter.  I can't wait to see what becomes of Amy and Will in their story How to Ravish a Rake.  I highly recommend this story and any of those written by Vicky Dreiling!
