Synopsis:

A faraway kingdom.
A brave Warrior.
An unexpected danger.
An ancient secret.
A desperate plan.

Fear is running rampant in Bariwon. The people of a small village near the northern mountains have vanished. Newly commissioned royal guardian Snapdragon is sent with a scouting party to investigate. His responsibility is to protect the non-soldiers, including Seraphina, a stunning young nursemaid.

When the party arrives, they make a shocking discovery. During the chaos that follows, Snapdragon discovers his feelings toward Seraphina are more than protective. Soon, he is forced to make difficult choices that will impact the future of everyone in Bariwon.

Spice Level:  Sweet, and very minimal
Violence Level:  There is fighting, sword play, and some loss of life…  Nothing completely over the top though or terribly violent.

When an email from J. Lloyd Morgan popped into my inbox, I was thrilled.  I was lucky enough to review “The Hidden Sun” – a book I devoured in an evening – I could wait for it to arrive in my mailbox a few weeks later.

Like the first book in the series, we are back in Bariwon.  This time, we get to learn about Snapdragon, the brother to the Queen and newly appointed Royal Guardian.  We get to tag along while Snap and the rest of the new recruits go through training.. and a few surprises!

We pick up a few years after King Rayne and Queen Sunshine came into power.  While things seem peaceful, there is something sinister brewing below the surface.  We get to see old foes and meet several new enemies that threaten the peace of Bariwon.

Snap and a group of Guardians are sent to a small village on the edge of a mountain range, a place where the ENTIRE population has vanished without a trace.  Can they figure out what happened and bring the people back safely?

This is one of those books that I will keep a lot of the details to myself, as even the most insignificant detail could give something away.  We are swept into a world of intrigue, adventure, mystery and even a little romance.

Will I recommend this book?  YES, this is a fantastic book that will keep the reader captivated from the first page right up until the last sentence.  I can’t wait for the next book in the series!  Will I read more by this author?  Most definitely, I thoroughly enjoy J. Lloyd Morgan’s writing style and how the story flows.  I eagerly await the next installment in this series.

Book Tour: Bring Me Back by Karen Booth

I’m Karen, a Midwestern girl transplanted in the South, raised on 80s music, Judy Blume, and the films of John Hughes. An early preoccupation with Rock ‘n’ Roll led me to spend my twenties working my way from intern to executive in the music industry. Much of my writing revolves around the world of backstage passes and band dynamics. My first full-length novel, “Bring Me Back”, is a story I had in my head for nearly eight years before my fingers hit the keyboard. Sleeping and eating quickly became a luxury, a plan I have since dubbed the Writer’s Diet. I channeled teenage memories of plastering my walls with posters to weave the tale of music journalist, Claire Abby, and the dreamy British rock-star crush of her youth, Christopher Penman. “Bring Me Back” is a work of women’s fiction, published by Turquoise Morning Press. When I’m not creating fictional musicians, I’m listening to everything from old-school Cheap Trick to Duran Duran to Superchunk with my kids, honing my Southern
