The Supreme God of the West Wind struggles to overcome a lifetime of betrayal to find a love he can trust in the midst of escalating war.
What inspired you to write about Gods & Goddesses?
When writing book 1 in the Hearts of the Anemoi series, North of Need, I came upon the Greek mythology of the Anemoi to explain hero Owen’s background as a snow god (he’s the son and destined heir of Boreas, Supreme God of the North Wind and Winter). And that set off the idea for a series based on Greek gods, since there were four cardinal Anemoi who were brothers in the mythology. West of Want’s particular story arose from the mythology in that Zephyros was a god that suffered repeated lost love, competition for love, etc.

i haven't read a lot of books about gods and ghodeess yet but i did love the one i tried. So far i love shifters because they can vary a lot ^^

ReplyDeleteMythology in general fascinates me no matter what the origin is (Greek, Norse, Egyptian, Hawaiian, Irish, African...etc). It's amazing to know that their is normally a connection between myths from different cultures and the fact that these myths all seemed to originate with those common connections so it leaves some question as to how that could happen?
ReplyDeleteAs far as paranormal creatures go, I like all of them but my top two supernaturals would be angels and shape shifters.
Mmm. I have always loved God/Goddess stories, I even enjoyed the stories we "had to" read in school; although I mostly had already read them. Fav paranormal creature... gosh, I guess it depends on what my book of the moment is.

ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger my parents told me stories from mythology for bedtime. Ever since I've been in love with them. I ended up with a minor in classical studies focused on Greek and Roman Mythology (although I love all kinds of cultures).
ReplyDeleteFor my favorite paranormal creature, I love the phoenix because he is in almost every major religion as a symbol of hope and rebirth.
I cannot choose one paranormal creature because I like them all. I have also read about all of them.
ReplyDeleteI do love myths. I have always been fascinated with the stories that ancient cultures come up with to describe the odd/normal ocurrances around them.
Kind of the super hero phenomenon that we all like today.
I love reading about them because they are so powerful, sometimes full of themselves and I always love to read they have fallen in love with a Mortal. :)
