Gods & Goddess Week: Tina Folsom

Gods&GoddessWeek copy

Welcome to Gods & Goddess Week!

This entire week is dedicated to all those wonderful books that feature Gods & Goddesses as the main characters.  We have great interviews and some awesome giveaways through out the week so make sure to check back each day with Stitch Read Cook and Ramblings from this Chick for all the fun!

Today we have the lovely TINA FOLSOM!

Tina Folsom was born in Germany and has been living in English speaking countries for over 20 years, the last 11 of them in San Francisco, where she's married to an American.

Tina has always been a bit of a globe trotter: after living in Lausanne, Switzerland, she briefly worked on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean, then lived a year in Munich, before moving to London. There, she became an accountant. But after 8 years she decided to move overseas.
In New York she studied drama at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, then moved to Los Angeles a year later to pursue studies in screenwriting. This is also where she met her husband, who she followed to San Francisco three months after first meeting him.

In San Francisco, Tina worked as a tax accountant and even opened her own firm, then went into real estate, however, she missed writing. In 2008 she wrote her first romance and never looked back.

She's always loved vampires and decided that vampire and paranormal romance was her calling. She now has 16 novels in English and several in other languages (Spanish, German, and French) and continues to write, as well as have her existing novels translated.

Hello Tina!  Thank you for taking part in our Gods & Goddess Week!

What inspired you to write about Gods & Goddesses?

I’ve always loved mythology, and the idea that Gods and Goddesses could still live among us appealed to me. So, I decided to spin a modern story around mythology.

Who is your favorite God/Goddess? Why?

Dioynsus, because he’s simply debauched and an incorrigible bad boy. And I’ve always loved bad boys.

Quick & Easy:

Day or Night? Night
Love at First Sight or Second Chances? Love at First Sight
Weres or Vamps? Vamps
Paperbacks or Ebooks? Ebooks
Past, Present or Future? Past
Reading or Writing? Writing
Coffee or Tea? Tea
Plotter or Panster? Plotter
Reality or Fiction? Fiction
Laptop or Desktop? Laptop
Angel or Demon? Demon

Now, something for the characters..

What's a day in the life of Ariadne consist of?

Ariadne: Well, some of the things I do on a daily basis, I can’t really repeat here (for example the way Dionysus wakes me up every morning) *clears throat*. But four days a week I spend at my wine shop in Charleston, where I help customers choose the right wine for their events or teach them about wine. Dionysus helps out quite often when he doesn’t take care of our firstborn. He’s turned to out to be quite a wonderful father, nothing like his own father, Zeus. In the evenings we often have dinner with Triton and Sophia, who also live in Charleston, or we entertain Eros and Hermes, who often fly in to spend time with us. But most weekends, Dionysus and I travel to Napa where he owns a vineyard. It’s a wonderful place to recharge and relax.

If Hollywood optioned your story, who would you like to see play you?

Dionysus: I think Hugh Jackman could play me, but he’d have to buff up a little, you know? Get a bit more meat on his bones.

When the god of wine and ecstasy, Dionysus, callously dumps his latest conquest, the mortal Ariadne, the goddess Hera has had enough. She robs Dionysus of his memory to teach him a lesson in humility.

Ariadne is deeply hurt after Dionysus dismisses their night of passion as “just sex” and doesn’t want to see her anymore. When she finds him bloodied and beaten and suffering from amnesia, she quickly forms a plan to get back at him. As she pretends to be his fiancée, Ariadne makes Dionysus believe he loves her. But the longer the charade continues, the more difficult it becomes to really see who teaches whom a lesson.

And what if Dionysus gains his memory back? Will there be hell to pay for her deception, or can a mortal woman truly win a god’s love?

Also by Tina:

Selfish and gorgeous Greek God Triton is cast out of Olympus after seducing Zeus’s mistress and can only gain reentry if he finds a woman who loves him for his kindness and selflessness, not his beauty. When the mortal Sophia – recovering from an eye operation and virtually blind – needs a home healthcare worker, he takes on the role, hoping she will be his ticket home.

While defending Sophia from an unknown adversary, Triton’s protective instinct emerges. At the same time rival Gods do everything to doom him to failure. And even if Triton can win Sophia’s love, will he throw it away to return home, or will he lose his own heart to the only woman who truly sees him?

A Touch of Greek is the first book in the humorous and sexy paranormal romance series Out of Olympus following the romantic adventures of four Gods: Triton, Dionysus, Eros, and Hermes.

Book Tour: Bring Me Back by Karen Booth

I’m Karen, a Midwestern girl transplanted in the South, raised on 80s music, Judy Blume, and the films of John Hughes. An early preoccupation with Rock ‘n’ Roll led me to spend my twenties working my way from intern to executive in the music industry. Much of my writing revolves around the world of backstage passes and band dynamics. My first full-length novel, “Bring Me Back”, is a story I had in my head for nearly eight years before my fingers hit the keyboard. Sleeping and eating quickly became a luxury, a plan I have since dubbed the Writer’s Diet. I channeled teenage memories of plastering my walls with posters to weave the tale of music journalist, Claire Abby, and the dreamy British rock-star crush of her youth, Christopher Penman. “Bring Me Back” is a work of women’s fiction, published by Turquoise Morning Press. When I’m not creating fictional musicians, I’m listening to everything from old-school Cheap Trick to Duran Duran to Superchunk with my kids, honing my Southern
