A Day in the Life of.....

This is where us bloggers & fans get a glimpse inside the days of our favorite authors!

--------------------

USA Today bestselling author Cari Quinn wrote her first story—a bible parable—in 2nd grade, much to the delight of the nuns at her Catholic school. Once she saw the warm reception that first tale garnered, she was hooked. Now she gets to pen sexy romances for a living and routinely counts her lucky stars. When she’s not scribbling furiously, she can usually be found watching men’s college basketball, playing her music way too loud or causing trouble. Sometimes simultaneously.

Thanks so much for having me here at A Day In The Life today to celebrate NO ROMANCE REQUIRED’s release! I’m excited to tell you all about my day, though I have to admit, the life of a full-time single writer isn’t that thrilling. As you will soon see…

10 AM: Wake up. This is actually on a good day, since I tend to be a bit of a night owl. Going to bed at 4 AM is not unusual for me. I often hear the birds in the morning—when I go to bed!

10 AM-1 PM: Take care of my morning errands like post office runs to mail out goodies, go to the store to buy more school supplies that I pretend I’ll actually use—ooh, Sharpies! Pencils! Tape!—and anything else that has accumulated while I’m on deadline. Which is often.

1 PM-4 PM: Eat lunch, usually at my desk, and scan hot man candy pictures on Pinterest. Catch up on social media like Facebook and Twitter. Open Word file. Check social media again. Look at To Do list. Weep copious tears.

4:01 PM: Look at man candy pictures for more inspiration. Drink coffee. Think about a donut.

4:15 PM: Go back to Word doc. Vow to write 10K by end of day.

5:00 PM: Wake up from impromptu nap at my desk. Realize I’ve written 5 words. Vow to change it by going back to get inspired from Pinterest.

6:00 PM: Yay, dinnertime!

7:00 PM: Check Pinterest again before I start my evening writing session. Think about baking brownies from recipe I find. Remember I don’t bake.

10:00 PM: Cheer that I’ve written 1K. Go me! Vow to write at least 1K more before bed. Check Twitter. Drink more coffee to fuel “productivity”.

2:00 AM: Notice I’ve written another 500 words and read approximately 8984403 tweets. Decide to go to bed and do better tomorrow.

That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but not too much! Add in visits with friends and family and lots more errands and it’s pretty darn close. But no complaints here! I love my life and wouldn’t change it. Being a full-time author rocks!

Faking it never felt so good…

Cory Santangelo is used to getting his way, both in the boardroom and the bedroom. Lately he hasn’t had much opportunity to do anything but work, but one unexpectedly sexy night in a gazebo with Victoria, his gorgeous and feisty interior designer, changes all that—especially when they’re caught on camera. Suddenly Cory’s sterling reputation is no longer above reproach. Since his impromptu encounter coincides nicely with his need for a girlfriend to get his well-meaning, meddling parents off his back, he decides to ask his lifelong frenemy for a favor.

To pretend to be his girlfriend for a month. No strings attached.

The only problem? Vicky Townsend wants those strings tied all around her. She’s battled a long-suppressed crush on Cory, and their combative work relationship has only fanned the flames. When he suggests his needs are more than she can handle, she’s ready to up the ante. And her bargaining chip is lots of delicious, inventive sex.

Until they discover nothing feels as good as making it real…
