Angeline is a Scorpio living in the Rocky Mountains with her husband and dogs. She loves all things paranormal, believes ghosts are real, werewolves aren't, and vampires? Definitely real! At least in the Vampire Born world they are. She is currently at work on her first New Adult Romance, Wicked Thing, which releases September 2013.

A Day in the Life of Angeline Kace

Every book is different and requires different methods; it seems, for me to write it. But here is an average day while writing Wicked Thing.

Monday through Friday starts out with putting my time in at the day job. I work for a CPA firm, so I’m there from 8-5 on those days. On my lunch, I’ll catch up with friends and readers on Facebook or email, usually thinking about my story or my characters off and on throughout the day. Sometimes a conversation or a scene will pop into my head and I have to open a Word doc to get it down before I forget it.

I get home after quitting time at around 5:30 or 5:45, depending on traffic. I’ll have some dinner before popping back up on FaceBook. I’ll check with some of my writer friends to see if anyone is up for what we call “sprints.” We’ll set an hour or half hour time limit and just write our little hearts out. For some reason, sprints helps you get a lot of words down onto the page. Maybe it’s the knowledge that you’re going to have to report your word count to them and you don’t want to look like a looser with a small word count, but the accountability sure helps from surfing the internet every second line.

With Wicked Thing, I had a lot of deadlines I had to meet in order to have the book ready for bloggers by a certain date, so I pretty much wrote every night from 6-12, depending on how difficult the words were to wrangle onto the page. But throughout this time, I’m dealing with the dogs whining to go outside. I’ll finally let them out, only to have them whine in three minutes to come back inside. I’ll finally let them back in, for them to turn right back around and whine to go outside. It’s a terrible, distracting, never-ending cycle of torture.

Once I have a scene I think encompasses most of what I wanted to get out, I’ll post it to a couple of my good friends to read, or my publicist, or my friend I call Mickey because she calls me Rocky and pumps me up before I write to make the self doubt monster go away so the words will come out and play. She’s awesome like that! Their feedback usually gives me more insight into what I’m missing in the scene or what I need to do better going forward with the next scene.

And that’s my day. I’ll go to bed and get ready to do it all over again the next day. When I’m on a deadline and have a book I need to write, I pretty much have no life. It’s all day job, then the book, day job, then the book. A workload stuck on the spin cycle. But I love writing, and maybe someday I’ll be fortunate enough to make it my day job.

Carmyn Rafferty witnessed the aftermath of her mother's affair. She learned at a young age not to trust anyone. Especially not your spouse. So she's planned. She's planned every detail of her life: who her husband will be, what their careers will be, what their lives will be like. All to avoid the pain of infidelity.

Dallas Brown lives a life all his own. He doesn't do relationships, he doesn't care what anyone thinks of him, and he doesn't live up to anyone's expectations but his own.

When Carmyn's fiancé cheats on her, it sends her into a whirlwind of one-night stands with the most infamous player on campus. She can't seem to stay away from this tough guy and his dangerous motorcycle. Everything about him is the complete opposite of who she'd planned to fall in love with: tattoos, dark stubble along his jawline, and hair that brushes his shoulders.

As Dallas and Carmyn begin to fall deeper and deeper into each other, they learn that love can truly be a wicked, wicked thing.

Book Tour: Bring Me Back by Karen Booth

I’m Karen, a Midwestern girl transplanted in the South, raised on 80s music, Judy Blume, and the films of John Hughes. An early preoccupation with Rock ‘n’ Roll led me to spend my twenties working my way from intern to executive in the music industry. Much of my writing revolves around the world of backstage passes and band dynamics. My first full-length novel, “Bring Me Back”, is a story I had in my head for nearly eight years before my fingers hit the keyboard. Sleeping and eating quickly became a luxury, a plan I have since dubbed the Writer’s Diet. I channeled teenage memories of plastering my walls with posters to weave the tale of music journalist, Claire Abby, and the dreamy British rock-star crush of her youth, Christopher Penman. “Bring Me Back” is a work of women’s fiction, published by Turquoise Morning Press. When I’m not creating fictional musicians, I’m listening to everything from old-school Cheap Trick to Duran Duran to Superchunk with my kids, honing my Southern
